| Unfortunately,
there is no shortage of abandoned, abused, and neglected cats in
Mason County -- and the county and City of Shelton have yet to
step up to the plate and do anything at all about this public
health problem.
We are unsalaried
volunteers who give much time, energy and money to this cause,
but our present resources are simply not enough to meet all the
need. Our ability to respond and help in a given situation
can often depend on timing -- at the given moment do we have
available space, what does the budget look like, and could our
resources to save lives be better spent elsewhere? The
harsh reality is that no matter what choices we make, kitties
somewhere are going to suffer an agonizing death.
We frequently provide
advice, supplies, and what else we can to help people handle
matters on their own. Many hands make for a light load,
and if we all pitch in and do what we can, more gets done.
We have some articles in the Care
section that might help.
If this doesn't seem
enough when you get a box of kittens dumped in your front yard,
we suggest you contact your city and county representatives and
let them know about it.
